Turn Torin AI on or off
This page shows you how to turn Torin AI on or off for your site. Torin is on by default once SimpleBoards Pro is active. If you do not want any AI features, you can turn it off in one click. While Torin is off, no AI request is ever sent from your site, even by accident.
Before you start
- SimpleBoards Pro is active and your license is in the
Activestate. See Activate your Pro license.
Step by step
- In your WordPress admin, go to SimpleBoards > Settings.
- Click the General tab at the top.
- Scroll down to the row labeled Torin AI.
- To turn Torin on, tick the checkbox Enable Torin AI (idea analysis, duplicate detection, roadmap suggestions).
- To turn Torin off, untick the same checkbox.
- Scroll down and click Save Changes.
What changed
The setting takes effect right away.
When Torin is on:
- The Torin AI floating button appears on the SimpleBoards > Items screen in the admin.
- Admins with the right permission can click the button and run analyses.
- A request is only sent to the Torin AI service when an admin clicks one of the analysis buttons inside the panel. Nothing is sent in the background.
When Torin is off:
- The floating button is hidden everywhere in the admin.
- No request is sent to the Torin AI service, for any reason.
- All your existing data on the site stays in place. Turning Torin off does not delete anything.
If you want to turn Torin back on later, repeat the steps above and tick the box. The saved results from past analyses are still there.
A note on what data Torin sends
When an admin clicks an analysis button, Torin sends idea data (titles, descriptions, vote counts, categories, top comment snippets) and basic site information (URL, WordPress version, PHP version, locale) to the Torin AI service so the analysis can run. For the full list, see What Torin AI does.
