Allow or block guest comments
Decide whether visitors can post comments without logging in, or whether only signed-in users can comment.
Before you start:
- Comments are turned on across the site. See Turn comments on or off across the whole site.
Step by step
- In the WordPress admin menu, click SimpleBoards > Settings.
- Open the Comments tab.
- In the Guest Comments row:
- Tick Allow visitors to comment without logging in to let guests post comments.
- Untick the box to require all commenters to be logged in.
- Click Save Changes.
What changed
If you allowed guests, the comment form shows fields for name and email. If you blocked guests, the comment form is replaced by a sign-in prompt for visitors who are not logged in.
