Pro features do not show up
You activated SimpleBoards Pro, but you do not see the Pro panels (Workflow Automations, Design, Private Boards, Announcements, Checklist Progress, Torin AI, or the License submenu). This page helps Pro features appear in the WordPress admin.
Quick checks
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and confirm both SimpleBoards - Ideas and Roadmap Solution and SimpleBoards Roadmap Pro are listed and Active.
- If only the free plugin is active, activate Pro now. If only Pro is listed, install and activate the free plugin first.
- After both are active, hover the SimpleBoards item in the admin sidebar and confirm a License submenu appears at the bottom.
- Open SimpleBoards > License and confirm the status pill says Active. If it says Not activated or Expired, you need to activate or renew.
- Reload the page in the WordPress admin. Some Pro panels only register after both plugins finish loading.
Walk through
The free plugin is not active
SimpleBoards Pro depends on the free plugin. If the free plugin is not active, Pro stops loading and shows this notice at the top of every admin page:
SimpleBoards Roadmap Pro requires the SimpleBoards Roadmap core plugin to be active.
This is enforced by the Requires Plugins header in Pro, so WordPress will refuse to activate Pro until the free plugin is installed and active.
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- Find SimpleBoards - Ideas and Roadmap Solution in the list. If it is missing, install it from Plugins > Add New.
- Click Activate under the free plugin.
- Reload Plugins > Installed Plugins and confirm both plugins now show Active.
How to confirm: the warning notice disappears, and the SimpleBoards menu in the sidebar shows Pro submenus including License.
The license is not activated
Some Pro features (such as automatic updates and Torin AI) check the license status before they work. The Pro panels in the admin still load, but updates stop and AI calls return an error.
- Go to SimpleBoards > License.
- If the status pill says Not activated, paste the license key from your purchase email into the field and click Activate.
- The pill should change to Active with a green color.
How to confirm: the pill on SimpleBoards > License says Active, and the Sites row shows the count increased by one.
The license expired or was suspended
If the pill on the License screen says Expired, Suspended, or Cancelled, the plugin is still installed but updates and some features are disabled.
- Open the purchase confirmation or your account on the SimpleBoards site to renew or fix the license.
- After renewal, return to SimpleBoards > License, deactivate the key on this site, then reactivate it with the same key.
How to confirm: the pill reads Active again. Pro features that depend on the license resume working.
A required submenu is missing
If you see the SimpleBoards menu but the License submenu is missing, the Pro plugin may not have finished loading. This usually means the free plugin was activated after Pro, and the admin menu cached the older state.
- Reload the admin page once.
- If the License submenu is still missing, deactivate Pro from Plugins > Installed Plugins, then activate it again.
How to confirm: the License entry appears at the bottom of the SimpleBoards submenu list.
Still stuck
- Read Activate Pro license for the full license setup walk-through.
- Read Upgrading to Pro for the install order.
- If the problem continues, email
[email protected]with a screenshot of Plugins > Installed Plugins and SimpleBoards > License.
