Pick a built-in theme for your board

Pro feature You need SimpleBoards Pro active to use this.

This page shows you how to apply one of the three built-in themes to a board. A theme is a set of ready-made colors, fonts, spacing, and card styles that work well together. You pick a theme once and the whole board takes on that look without you touching any other setting.

Before you start

  • SimpleBoards Pro is active and your license is in the Active state. See Activate your Pro license.
  • The board you want to style already exists.

The three built-in themes

SimpleBoards Pro ships with three themes you can pick from:

  • Clean Light. A bright, white-and-blue look. Soft shadows, light grey columns, a violet vote button. This is the default theme on every new board.
  • Midnight Glass. A dark theme. Deep navy background, light text, blue accents, glassy cards. Suits sites with a dark hero section or dark site header.
  • Pulse. A modern, indigo-tinted theme. Light background, rounded cards, the Plus Jakarta Sans font for headings paired with Inter for body text. Suits product sites that want a fresh, energetic feel.

You can switch between the three at any time without losing the board's content.

Step by step

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to SimpleBoards > Boards.
  2. Click the title of the board you want to style.
  3. At the top of the board edit screen, click the Design tab.
  4. You will see a row labeled Theme with a dropdown next to it.
  5. Open the dropdown. The top group is Built-in presets. It lists Clean Light, Midnight Glass, and Pulse.
  6. Pick the theme you want.
  7. Click the Update button at the bottom of the page.

What changed

The board on the front of your site now uses the colors, fonts, and spacing of the theme you picked. Three things follow:

  • All cards, columns, vote buttons, and drawer panels switch to the new look.
  • The theme applies to this board only. Other boards keep whatever theme they were on.
  • The change does not touch any of your written content. Items, comments, votes, and statuses are not affected.

You can fine-tune the theme after you pick it. Every value (colors, sizes, card padding, font choice) can be edited in the same tab. See Change colors, fonts, and spacing without code. If you make a mess, click Restore selected theme defaults to roll back to the preset's original values.
