Move an idea to the roadmap
Turn an idea that visitors submitted into a roadmap card with a status. There are two ways to do this: from the admin Item Setup screen, or from the side drawer on the public board.
Move it from the admin
- In the WordPress admin menu, click SimpleBoards > Items.
- Find the idea in the list and click its title.
- Under Item Setup, change Item Type from Idea to Roadmap Item.
- Pick a Status for the new card (for example,
Planned). - (Optional) Pick a Category and a Deadline.
- Click Save Item.
Move it from the public drawer
You can also do this while you are looking at your live board, as long as you are signed in to WordPress with permission to edit items.
- Open the board on the front of the site.
- Click the Ideas tab.
- Click the idea card to open the side drawer.
- At the top of the drawer, next to the Idea label, click Move to Roadmap.
- In the dialog that opens:
- Pick a Status for the new card.
- (Optional) Pick a Category.
- Click Move.
What changed
The card moves off the Ideas tab and shows on the Roadmap tab under the status you picked. Its votes, comments, and subscribers all carry over. If you have notifications turned on for "Idea moved to roadmap", the person who submitted the idea gets an email. See Edit the new idea email template for the related notification settings.
